IMPROVEMENTS A PART OF 2004 – 2004 SEASON FOR SNOWSHOE MOUNTAIN RESORT

Snowshoe, WV – More than six million dollars worth of capital improvements will be ready in time for Snowshoe Mountain Resort’s planned Winter 2004 - 2005 opening scheduled for November 24th, weather permitting. Many of the improvements will not be evident to the thousands of guests Snowshoe Mountain welcomes every year, but they will add to the outstanding guest experience Snowshoe Mountain Resort is known for along the East Coast.

Along with upgrades to the Mountain’s water and sewer infrastructure, more than a half million dollars has gone into expanding Snowshoe Mountain’s snowmaking capabilities. Extra guns and pipes will only improve on the Resort’s already existing 100% snowmaking capabilities in both the Snowshoe and Silver Creek Areas. At full capacity, weather permitting, an area equal to five football fields can be covered with one foot of snow in an hour at Snowshoe Mountain Resort by the Mountain’s veteran snowmaking team.

By November’s opening, a finished walking trail will connect all of the lodging facilities on Snowshoe Mountain’s basin side. Guests will be able to access all of the slopes and all of the amenities available in The Village at Snowshoe Mountain using walking trails that will extend from Camp 4 to Top of the World accommodations.

“These are the kind of improvements that will only build on the one-of-a-kind ski and snowboard experiences we offer here at Snowshoe Mountain Resort,” says Snowshoe Mountain Resort Vice President and General Manager Bruce Pittet. “There is a lot happening on this Mountain when it comes to construction. It is our constant goal to give our guests a reason to visit over and over again while, at the same time, bringing new people to Pocahontas County, West Virginia.”

In early 2005, The Seneca, the newest lodging addition to The Village at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, is scheduled to open offering guests and homeowners the convenience of city living in the middle of the great outdoors. Construction has continued on The Seneca through the summer, another addition to the Snowshoe Mountain skyline.
