DINING BECOMES AN ADVENTURE AT SNOWSHOE MOUNTAIN RESORT

Snowshoe, WV – Going out to dinner will take on a whole new meaning this Winter Season at Snowshoe Mountain Resort with the Outdoor Adventure Program’s new take on Adventure Dining. Improvements to the Backcountry Hut and upgrades to food service at the Boathouse will make for the kind of dining options you will only find in the Mountains of West Virginia.

Located 2.5 miles along the Cheat Mountain Ridge Trail, the Sunrise Backcountry Hut will, this year, offer double the amount of seating space along with a full menu and bar. Guests will be able to access the seclusion of the Hut via a guided snowmobile tour or on an all-terrain vehicle called a snowcat operated by Snowshoe Mountain’s trained Adventure guides.

“The ride to the Sunrise Backcountry Hut, in itself, is better than any other trip you’ll take to any other restaurant anywhere,” says Hut Master Ben Brannon. “The Cheat Mountain Ridge Trail offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains and when you arrive at the Hut you’ll be treated to a dinner that rivals the scenery.”

In addition to dining space, the Backcountry Hut offers three private rooms for overnight stays. Up to ten people can spend the night in the rustic cabin featuring hardwood floors and cedar log furniture. Both a gourmet dinner and breakfast are included.

Located on the banks of Shaver’s Lake at the base of Ballhooter Lift, the Boathouse will offer a Surf and Turf-style dinner menu for the first time this year. On certain weeknights, guests will be able to book a ride on a snowcat for a trip on the nighttime slopes of Snowshoe Mountain Resort, a trip that will end with an amazing meal incorporating views of both the Lake and evening mountain operations.
